Taking time for yourself is sacred in the eyes of God
Dear Beautiful Soul,
So many people move through life feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and disconnected from themselves.
They give endlessly to others.
They carry responsibilities quietly.
They try to be strong for everyone around them.
And somewhere along the way, they forget themselves.
But taking time for yourself in the eyes of God is not selfish.
It is sacred.
God never intended for us to live in a constant state of depletion.
We were not created to continuously pour from an empty cup while ignoring the needs of our own heart, mind, body, and soul.
There is wisdom in rest.
There is healing in stillness.
There is clarity in stepping away from the noise long enough to reconnect with ourselves and with God’s presence within us.
Sometimes we believe we must always be productive in order to deserve peace.
But God’s love is not based on performance.
You do not need to earn the right to breathe deeply.
To slow down.
To rest.
To protect your peace.
To take care of your spirit.
Taking time for yourself can look very simple.
A quiet morning before the world awakens.
A walk in nature.
Prayer.
Writing your thoughts in a journal.
Sitting silently with your emotions instead of running from them.
Allowing yourself to say “no” when your soul needs rest.
These moments are not wasted time.
They are moments of reconnection.
Because when we constantly ignore ourselves, we slowly become disconnected from our intuition, our peace, and our inner wisdom.
But when we create sacred space for ourselves, we begin to hear our hearts again.
We remember what matters.
We reconnect with gratitude.
We soften emotionally.
We become more present, more loving, and more aligned with the life God truly wants for us.
Even Jesus stepped away from the crowds to pray, rest, and reconnect spiritually.
There is deep wisdom in that.
Today, I invite you to ask yourself gently:
When was the last time I truly gave myself permission to rest without guilt?
You deserve moments of peace.
You deserve care.
You deserve time to simply breathe and reconnect with your soul.
And perhaps one of the greatest acts of self-love and spiritual alignment is allowing yourself to slow down long enough to hear God speaking softly within you again.
May you give yourself grace.
May you honor your need for rest.
And may you remember that caring for yourself is also a way of honoring the life God gave you.
With love & light,
Rev. Carmen Gélinas
